ABC Board Meeting
February 2, 2009
MINUTES
The Columbus ABC Board met at 5:00 p.m. at the ABC store. Present: Becky Kennedy, Pat Feagan and Marshall Watkins board members and B.J. Smith, store manager. Chair Kennedy called the meeting to order and made a motion to approve the days AGENDA and MINUTES from the last meeting. Pat Feagan seconded the motion and the meeting proceeded.
OLD BUSINESS
B.J. reported that he had spoken with Carolina First about the credit card rates and the bank had agreed to lower the processing fees to 1.4% on debit cards and 1.5% on credit cards.
NEW BUSINESS
The Board discussed giving the town of Columbus a Profit Distribution Payment now as opposed to waiting until May, which is when a payment has been made in the past. Upon discussion, the board agreed upon the amount of $10,000. Pat Feagan made a motion to give the Town of Columbus $10,000. Chair Kennedy seconded: all were in favor.
B.J. made a request to get another monitor for the security camera for the front counter due to an incident of theft on Saturday, 1/31/09. The Board agreed to a new monitor with the exception that its cost and installation not exceed $500.00. In further discussion, Chair Kennedy made a motion that B.J. be allowed to spend up to $500.00 on any items he deems necessary for the business without the approval of the Board. Pat Feagan seconded the motion. B.J. also reported that business was up 20% in the month of January.
With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 5:30 p.m.
The next meeting will be held Monday, March 2, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. at the ABC Store.
